Stand By Me Lesson

STAND BY ME by Ben E. King

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see.
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me.

And darlin', darlin', stand by me,
oh now now stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me.

If the sky that we look upon
Should tumble and fall
And the mountains should crumble to the sea,
I won't cry, I won't cry, no I won't shed a tear
Just as long as you stand, stand by me

And darlin', darlin', stand by me, oh stand by me
Stand by me, stand by me, stand by me-e, yeah.

Whenever you're in trouble, won't you stand by me?
oh now now stand by me
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me.

Darlin', darlin', stand by me-e, stand by me.
Oh stand by me, stand by me, stand by me.

An Irish Lullaby

http://www.ireland-information.com/irishmusic/anirishlullaby.shtml

An Irish Lullaby Lesson

Patrick was born in Roman Britain. When he was about sixteen he was captured by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Ireland, where he lived for six years before escaping and returning to his family. He entered the church, as his father and grandfather had before him, becoming a deacon and a bishop. He later returned to Ireland as a Christian missionary, working in the north and west of the island, but little is known about the places where he actually worked.

Saint Patrick's Day is an annual feast day which celebrates Saint Patrick (circa 385–461 AD), one of the patron saints of Ireland, and is generally celebrated on March 17. The day is the national holiday of Ireland.

1. AN IRISH LULLABY
Over in Killarney
Many years ago,
Me mither sang a song to me [My mother]
In tones so sweet and low.
Just a simple little ditty,
In her good ould Irish way, [old]
And l'd give the world if she could sing
That song to me this day.

Chorus: "Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
hush now, don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral,
that's an Irish lullaby."

2
Oft in dreams I wander
To that cot again,
I feel her arms a-huggin' me
As when she held me then.
And I hear her voice a -hummin'
To me as in days of yore,
When she used to rock me fast asleep
Outside the cabin door. Chorus
You can hear the music if you put this in the address bar on your computer:
